I’ve been hearing so much about a makeup
range called Sleek recently, so I paid a visit to Superdrug yesterday to see if
they had it. I wasn’t actually expecting it to be in the one I went to as it’s
in a shopping mall and quite small compared to others, but I was so excited to
find it was in there!
One of the main attractions to this brand
seems to be their value for money; apparently their quality matches higher-end,
more expensive brands. I picked up a few things after spending a good half an
hour standing testing things (I was too drawn in!) and I have to say, so far
I’m really impressed with them!
The first thing I went for was the i-Divine
eyeshadow palette, in “Oh So Special”.
I always seem to be drawn to more neutral eyeshadow colours, so I loved this
one. To be honest, despite the good comments they’ve already received, I didn’t
expect it to be so good! The choice of colours allows you to use it for both
daytime and evening wear, and they’re really pigmented! I’d definitely
recommend it – if I didn’t live so far away from the city I’d have been back
already to pick up another one… I can tell where my money’s going when
university starts back!
I also got the Blush by 3 palette in “Lace”. I tend to be kind of fussy with
foundations and blushers, mostly driven by sensitive skin, so this one was
either going to be a hit or a miss… It was definitely a hit! Again, it’s very
pigmented, and I felt that it brightened up my complexion noticeably. I even
got complimented on how my skin looked when I had it on – it’s already been
added to my makeup bag!
Next to join my shopping basket was two
shades of True Colour Lipstick, in “Cherry” (on the left) and “Mystic” (right, obviously). Compared to
eyeshadows, recently I’ve found myself looking for darker colours when it comes
to lips, which Cherry achieves. This is a sheen, so I found it pretty easy to
apply – my only downside is that on me, it looked a bit like it was bleeding
(though to be fair, I did apply it in a bit of a rush). Mystic, on the other
hand, is a matte. It was definitely a different shade to what I usually wear,
which again is soft pinks – this one is more of a purpley-fucshia colour. I
liked this one for its application, where I found I could build the colour up
to the boldness I wanted it at. I do like the lipsticks for winter just now, so
maybe when we start getting into spring/summer I’ll revisit to look at their
lip glosses!
All in all, I’m really impressed with this
brand! If you want to see their products for yourself, their website is http://www.sleekmakeup.com :)
