Spring is here!

I know it's really stereotypically Scottish of me, but as soon as I woke up and saw the sun yesterday, I straight away decided that it was to be a dress and sunglasses day. Got to make the most of it - that was probably like a third of the amount of sunny days we'll get this year!

My friends and I decided to go to Glasgow's Botanic Gardens to have a picnic to celebrate the good weather - how cute does it look!?

Another hair colour...

Does anyone else do what's apparently backwards, and dye their hair darker in the Spring/Summer months then go lighter in Autumn/Winter? This must be the third year in a row now I've followed this pattern, dark from March and then dip dye and highlights from September... Though I'm not entirely keen on what I've dyed my hair like today!
This was L'oreal's Casting Creme Gloss in the shade of "Chocolate"... I don't know, I haven't tried it out with make-up yet so my eyebrows and pale face are probably making it look worse, plus I was used to having light hair. Knowing me though, it'll have changed again in a few weeks!

Oops...

I can’t believe it’s taken me nearly four months to notice this…

I’ve just been blogging whenever something happens and I think “yeah, that’s worth posting and being read”, but I’ve literally only just realised something – I haven’t even explained who I am, anything about me… Why has it taken this long for this to be noticed!?

So, I’ve decided to do a “20 questions” style blog post for today, except more like “20 answers” because I’m an idiot.

1.     My name is Hannah.

(This is me, btw.)

2.     I’m 18 years old
3.     I’m an International Business student, though I’m really into media so this blog is supposed to be like a balancer-outer thing
4.     I’m Scottish!
5.     I was brought up on a tiny island, but I now live in Glasgow for university
6.     I’m a huge Manchester City fan, and our dad brought my brother and me up that way… Forever grateful for his perseverance
7.     I like to claim that I’m really exotic as my maternal grandfather’s side of the family are Ghanaian, but I’m actually really stereotypically Scottish thanks to my dad’s side haha
8.     I would be a Disney Princess if it were possible
9.     I’m naturally a whole mix of hair colours – brunette base with blonde and red through it, though now I couldn’t even pinpoint what colour it is now. Brunette, red in natural light and blonde appears every so often?
10. I’m definitely a pink girl. I don’t think I’ve ever grown out of pink since my Barbie days
11. I swear everyone says it, but I couldn’t live in a world without music
12. I’m obsessed with Lush products, and can’t wait to move into our new flat – it has a bath! (yay)
13. I’m actually a naturally outgoing person, but I worry waaay too much about what people think. Definitely needs to stop
14. I’d love to travel the world once I graduate, though I don’t think I could ever permanently move from Britain. Also, I’m pale and Scottish – it takes like two hours of sun to make me look like a lobster
15. I would love to have a YouTube channel at some point – I did try it out when I was like 14, but I’d probably be a whole load more serious about it this time round!
16. I’m determined to own a Mini Cooper at some point in my life – preferably when I actually have the money and no student expenses to worry about
17. If someone bought me a Pomeranian, I would love them forever
18. It’s only just recently been brought to my attention that I will be bought into anything. Recently as in last night, where I went out in search of glitter foam and came back with a bike horn, an Easter rabbit headband and matching glasses
19. I love love love printing out photos just to have them to keep. It’s easy enough to just upload them onto Facebook or whatever, but I love having them up just to reminisce and I’ve even ended up trying to fill my wall board thing in my halls room with them all – more on that later haha
20. I love music festivals, though I’ve never been able to go to any of the big weekend-long ones. I’ve got tickets for T in the Park this summer though, so hopefully that won’t be true come July!

I think that’s it for now haha, I was literally sitting trying to come up with ideas for posts and kept thinking “have I mentioned this before? ... no… what about this? Wait, what have I mentioned?” Gaaawd. Anyway, now you’re informed!

Btw, what I was going to expand on with no.19 was that I’ve just come across this amazing app called “FreePrints” (http://www.freeprintsapp.co.uk) – I’m not entirely sure how well known it is just now, but it’s so good – you can pick up to 45 photos to have printed off for FREE every month, and all you have to do is pick out which ones and put in your delivery address. There’s a delivery fee but it’s never any more than £3.99, obviously depending on what you’ve ordered and what class of delivery you’ve picked. I’m currently waiting on my first order, so I’ll maybe do a review when they come through!

Long time no blog...

It’s been nearly a month since my last post… I feel so bad!

To be fair, it’s been a mad month of no sleep, stress and feeling like I’m ready to rip my hair out… but I think I’ve just about made it out okay!

University’s starting to wrap things up so the workload has increased like 100x, which has pretty much been the entire cause of the stress, but me and my friends have also been freaking out about finding a place for next year. We’re all in student halls just now seeing as we’re in first year, but we really wanted to find a flat of our own for next year, so we’ve spent weeks searching for somewhere. We had a flat viewing on Friday at one that we really, REALLY wanted, which I was going to put on here but I didn’t want to jinx it… But we got it!!

This is the living room - isn’t it so cute!? I’m determined that we’re having a vintage themed living room, not sure how everyone else feels about that but I really think the windows would suit it. Gaaah I’m just so happy right now. It was a really panicky situation cause there was a load of us all after it, but we’ve said that we’ll move in next month so we’re all just so relieved that we’ve secured somewhere.

That’s literally all I’ve done the last few weeks, so it’s a really short post for now but I figured I should update where I’ve been!

Friday 13 February 2015

This week's favourites!

Happy Friday the 13th! It’s funny, I wouldn’t normally notice the significance of the date, but it’s really grey here in Glasgow today and I’m expecting to hear back about my finance test results so I’m really feeling it today…

I seem to be getting more into the idea of updating this blog, any time I’m out or doing something I wonder if it’s worthy of writing a post about it. The last few days I’ve seen or bought little things that I’ve thought I could post about but it ended up not really being enough to write a whole post on, so I’ve decided on doing something different… A list of my favourite things this week :) (original, I know. Just go with it haha)

So, without further ado…

1. Lush Lip Scrub (Bubblegum)

My friend introduced me to this – I get really dry, cracked lips during winter no matter how much lip balm I get through, so she let me try out hers and it was so good that I had to go get my own! It’s a little pot small enough to carry around in your bag, and contains caster sugar and jojoba oil. You just use it like you would an exfoliator for your face, except – and this is probably my favourite part – because it’s sugar, you lick it off and the oil stays to moisturise your lips. It tastes so good!

2. Lush Bath Ballistic (Granny Takes a Dip and Dragon’s Egg)

My parents were out visiting me this week, so because they were in a hotel it meant that I could come and visit and use the bath there… university hall problems. Of course, the first thing I did was run down the street to Lush (literally, I was so excited) to buy one of their bath bombs which I love love love. The first one I picked up was Granny Takes a Dip (to the left), which smelled amazing, I don’t know how to explain it other than like a sherbet-y sweet? The colours were also so cute, all pinks and blues and greens and the water ended up a dark pink colour which totally bought me in. I was too eager to use this one to take my own photo, so I’ve used a stock one haha. I also got a second one, Dragon’s Egg (for a second bath, obviously – need to make the most of it), which was a little less mad but gave a really nice lemony smell and released a white foam, which then ended up orange and the water was all glittery which would usually annoy me but this was really cute... That one I did get a photo of! (right)

3. This cupcake

How cute is this!? I met my mum between classes yesterday and she suggested getting a cake from Greggs, which I usually wouldn’t go into just cause I’m not a big fan of shop-bought cakes (it’s the baking soda I don’t like, I’m not a cake snob!), but I saw this cake literally smiling at me and it was way too cute to not pick up. It made me smile anyway!

4. Yankee Candle (Vanilla Cupcake)

I remember when I was little, my mum would always be ordering off QVC and one product that would be all over the house was Yankee Candle. Obviously when you’re like 5 you’re not very interested in how good candles smell, so I haven’t really got into them until recent years haha. My favourite of all time has to be Christmas Cookie, but it’s obviously a seasonal one so I always have to stock up to try and make them last the whole year. For some reason though, I never noticed until the other day that Vanilla Cupcake gives off almost the same scent? Maybe it’s just me who smells it that way, but anyway it is amazing and I actually had to go on a quest just to find someone with matches who could light it for me the other day… I had to get someone to light it while they were standing outside their flat for a cigarette, I was that won over by it. This was at 11pm, by the way. Not even ashamed.

… and I think that’s it! I could probably go on to be honest, but this post is getting pretty long and I salute you if you’ve actually made it to the end haha
